Alfreda's Cinema Project

So I was contacted to do a mini project by Afreda's Cinema for an upcoming movie screening event and this was probably the most interesting project I'd work on. I enjoy working with smoke because there's so many ways you can do it.

How The Goons Stole Christmas

Even though it's about three days after the holiday, I was watching "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" last night and got very inspired. One of my favorite Christmas movies. Hope you enjoy

Young Thug Slime Season 2

As I was looking for new music to listen to, my friend suggested I get into Young Thug. He suggested his album Slime Season 2. At first sight of the mixtape cover I instantaneously wanted to see the fingers control the puppet. After research to my understanding this is called an interactive album cover. I love the outcome honestly and I may do another album cover as this was very fun to make. Hope you enjoy.

Newport Nasty

Between my studies and job there's little time to improve but I was determined to get this idea out of my head. I was observing a smoker one day and they made the most disgusting cough I've ever heard. I thought about it for a while and it lead me to the commercials that exaggerated the effects of smoking to a extremely short term effect to raise awareness of its lethal long term effects. I wanted to recreate this in a cute but still informative approach (as many cigarette ads do). Hiding behind the nicely contrasted and appealing looks of the characters, their dying from such a small habit. Hope you enjoy.

Side Project #2

This is an illustration I did for Black Girls Thrive Zine.  Black Girl Thrive Zine is a movement and digital inspirazine empowering entrepreneurial millennial women of color to thrive fiercely. This was a fairly hard project for me. I'm not the best at illustrations as they require alot more detail then animations. The hardest part was her kimono. I'll be honest I dont enjoy Illustrations as much as I enjoy animations but they do help transfer the idea and ability to pay attention to certain details and lighting especially. Anyways please go and follow them on twitter at @BlackGirlThrive as they are an upcoming Zine. Again, this is a bit different from my animations but I feel I did an extremely good job in capturing the details where necessary. Hope you enjoy!

Side Project #1

A piece I did for my friend. She wanted me to create the logo icon for the page. She's working on a youtube channel focused on Africans and their backstory in many areas such as developing a career, facing racism, the transition process behind coming to america and many other cultural topics.  I'm sure I'm not explaining it as well as it should be however when she explained it I felt it was a great idea and was glad to be apart of it. The Youtube nor blog is not yet created however when it is I will be sure to update yall on it. This was a fun and easy animation, didn't take alot of time at all. Hope you enjoy!

Stop Daydreaming!

This is an animation I'm very proud of! Love the outcome, how much I learned from working with the cameras, stretching, and coloring. The quality is up to par as well. The concept behind this piece is daydreaming. I've always been a culprit of it and its always sad when you have to snap out of it right? Very proud of this piece hope you enjoy it :)

Sun and Moon

Not my best work I admit but I really wanted to get this idea out of my head as quick as possible before I forgot it. It's a very quick animation.
